WATCH: Vehicle Catches Fire as Illegal Aliens Top 100 MPH During Texas Pursuit
Texas authorities arrested a pair of illegal aliens for smuggling fellow illegals following a high-speed pursuit that ended when their vehicle caught fire.
The incident unfolded on Tuesday in Kinney County near the southern border.
Texas Department of Public Safety (TxDPS) troopers attempted to pull over a suspicious Toyota Camry when the driver began taking evasive action.
Footage of the ensuing chase was shared on social media by TxDPS spokesman Lt. Chris Olivarez.
The sedan can be seen hurtling down RM-334 in the dark at speeds topping 100 miles per hour before smoke begins billowing and the driver pulls over.
โThe vehicle is on fire,โ a trooper can be heard saying into his radio.
Two illegal aliens bailed out and tried to flee on foot while two suspects remained inside the vehicle.
The driver was identified as Eduardo Jose Flores, an illegal alien from Venezuela who was living in Austin, Texas.
โFlores & his passenger, Luis Alejandro Basabe, an illegal immigrant from Venezuela who lives in Austin, Texas, were charged with evading arrest & smuggling of persons,โ Lt. Olivarez explained.
The illegal aliens apparently managed to escape.
