Watch: CNN Triggered Over Musk Reinstatement of Alex Jones

CNN struggled to come to grips with Alex Jones’ return to the X platform.

In a CNN segment over the weekend, the fake news mainstream media outlet lamented X owner Elon Musk’s restoration of Jones’ account.

“I’m having a bit of a tough time keeping it…Go ahead, Donnie,” a CNN anchor admitted, before turning it over to correspondent Donnie O’Sullivan.

The panel went on to take issue with Musk’s “unscientific” poll, in which over 70 percent (over 1,378,254 users) voted in favor of Jones’ return, and feared the reinstatement would have lasting effects that could impact the 2024 presidential election.

“You know, after the January 6th attack, a lot of these big conspiracy theorists, including Donald Trump, got kicked off the platform. And that drove a lot of people to these kind of alternative platforms, some places where extremism and hate can really fester,” O’Sullivan said.

“Now X, one of the biggest platforms in the world, that is the platform. That is the alternative platform, but it’s mainstream. And I think, you know, we also have to stop thinking about this stuff, like somebody like Jones now, as a fringe character. I mean, he’s not. You saw how big a role he played in the Stop the Steal movement. [He] has an ear to the former president, essentially.”

Following the account restoration, Musk conducted an interview with Jones on the platform’s X Spaces forum, joined by Andrew Tate, Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy and others.

CNN’s criticisms come as correspondent Oliver Darcy, who was instrumental in getting Jones booted, also complained about Jones’ return to X, and called on sponsors to retaliate by abandoning the platform.
