Trump Urges Death Penalty for Human Traffickers Following ‘Sound of Freedom’ Screening

President Donald Trump says he’ll ask Congress to consider a law that would put human traffickers to death if they’re caught illegally smuggling children.

The former president’s forceful declaration came Friday just days after he screened the popular Sound of Freedom movie exposing the evils of child trafficking at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey.

“This is a very important film and very important movie and it’s a very important documentary, all wrapped up in one,” Trump said in his most recent campaign message.

After highlighting his administration’s efforts to combat trafficking, which included signing “the Frederick Douglass Trafficking Victims Prevention and Protection Reauthorization Act authorizing $430 million to fight sex and labor trafficking,” Trump said he’d put an end to “Biden’s border nightmare” which has caused human trafficking to flourish.

“When I am back in the White House, I will immediately end the Biden border nightmare that traffickers are using to exploit vulnerable women and children. We will fully secure the border. I will wage war on the cartels, just as I destroyed the ISIS caliphate. 100% gone, 100% destroyed,” Trump stated, adding he’d “use Title 42 to end the child trafficking crisis by returning all trafficked children to their families in their home countries and without delay.”

Additionally, Trump vowed to “urge Congress to ensure that anyone caught trafficking children across our border receives the death penalty immediately, and that includes also for [trafficked] women.”

Trump’s renewed effort to tackle the issue comes as he was recently praised by Sound of Freedom actor Jim Caviezel, who told Fox & Friends Trump should be re-installed as president because he’d root out the traffickers.

“And we could be doing more, right, Jim?” Fox host Brian Kilmeade asked Caviezel Thursday.

“Oh, yeah. We have to do a lot more. And we got to start with Donald Trump,” Caviezel responded. “Well, he’s got to be in there because he’s going to go after the traffickers.”

“Do you think he understands that?” Kilmeade asked, to which Caviezel replied, “Uh, we were with him last night.”

“This is the new Moses,” Caviezel said, adding, “I mean, I’m still Jesus, but he’s the new Moses.”

“Pharaoh, let my children go free,” he added halfway facetiously.

Trump recognized Caviezel, filmmaker Eduardo Verástegui and Tim Ballard, the federal agent whose remarkable story formed the basis of the Sound of Freedom, at his golf club screening Wednesday night.
