Trump Slams Fox News Coverage of ‘Boring’ DeSantis Event Where He RIPPED OFF MAGA Border Policies

Former President Donald Trump bashed Fox News for enthusiastically covering GOP presidential contender Ron DeSantis’ trip to the southern border, also accusing the Florida governor of stealing his tough border policies.

Trump remarked Monday that the cable news outlet’s airing of DeSantis’ “boring” speech showed the network was all-in for his Republican competitor, while at the same time ignoring remarks he made and an achievement award he received at the Faith and Freedom Coalition conference over the weekend.

From President Trump’s Truth Social account:

FoxNews just covered, from beginning to end, the Ron DeSanctimonious very boring news conference at the Border, but didn’t cover one minute of my two big speeches on Saturday and Sunday night, one for Faith & Freedom in D.C., the other about trade in Michigan, where I was presented with the “Man of the Decade” Award. The DeSanctus speech was just a rehash of all the things I did to have the “safest and strongest Border in U.S. history.” Also, I’m up on him by 40 points, & also up big on Biden!

Trump went on to take issue with the network’s invitation to him to join the Republican debate, while at the same time noting Fox’s effusive praise for DeSantis, saying, “Sorry FoxNews, life doesn’t work that way!!!”

So FoxNews, which is down 37% in the Ratings, doesn’t cover my getting the “Man of the Decade” Award (because of my great trade policies!) in Michigan, or my Keynote Speech for Faith & Freedom in D.C., and then wants me to show up and get them ratings for their “Presidential” Debate, where I’m leading the field by 40 points. All they do is promote, against all hope, Ron DeSanctimonious, and he’s dropping like a rock. Sorry FoxNews, life doesn’t work that way!!!

The 45th president continued to assail DeSantis for essentially hijacking his policies on the border, and also noted his border speech in Eagle Pass, Texas, was only attended by a small unenthusiastic crowd.

DeSanctimonious showed up today in Eagle Pass, on the Texas Border, with almost no crowd or excitement. He is a failed candidate, whose sole purpose in making the trip was to reiterate the fact that he would do all of the things done by me in creating the strongest Border, by far, in U.S. history. A total waste of time!

Claiming he plans to go “beyond Trump” with a “No Excuses” border approach, DeSantis debuted his “big” agenda at the event, with many noticing the talking points closely matched Trump’s, including a promise to “build the wall.”

“Many of the proposals appear to be either carbon copies of Trump policies, including, the top bullet points on ‘end[ing] catch-and-release’ and ‘reimpos[ing] Remain in Mexico,’” noted The National Pulse’s Jack Montgomery. “The details are so similar that they could’ve been lifted directly from the Trump campaign website, which opens by stating that the former president will ‘again end catch-and-release [and] restore Remain in Mexico’.”

But that’s not all…

“Other details also appear to be plagiarized from the 45th President,” continues Montgomery.

“DeSantis pledges he will ‘declare the Mexican drug cartels to be Transnational Criminal Organizations’ and ‘authorize sanctions’ on them, while Trump has pledged to ‘designate cartels as Foreign Terrorist Organizations’ and ‘impose a total naval embargo on cartels [and] order the Department of Defense to inflict maximum damage on cartel leadership and operations’ to take them down ‘just as [the Trump administration] took down ISIS’.”

In another direct rip-off of Trump’s agenda, DeSantis also said he’d end “birthright citizenship,” a policy Trump in a speech last month vowed to implement during his next term in order to deactivate the “magnet” incentivizing migrants to illegally enter the United States.

It appears the DeSantis campaign is happy selling itself as a watered-down version of Trump, or Trump Lite as many call it, with the only viable avenue for him winning the Republican nomination involving Trump either dropping out, or being assassinated.
