Shock Video: Suspect Wielding ‘Rifle’ Robs NYC Shop

A suspect wielding a ‘rifle’ held up a shop in New York City over the weekend, according to reports. 

The disturbing incident unfolded at around 11 p.m. on Saturday night on Staten Island. 

A man wearing a face mask, goggles, and orange gloves burst into Veteran’s Convenience store in Rossville and pointed an object resembling an AR-15 rifle at the clerk. 

Surveillance footage of the heist has been circulating on social media. 

While demanding the worker hand over the contents of the cash register, the thief can be heard assuring him there would not be violence if he complied. 

“Don’t worry – I won’t hurt you,” the suspect says. “You’ve got a family? Don’t worry.”

When asked if he wants the one dollar bills, the suspect declines.

“Leave the dollars,” he says. “These are going back to the community.”

On his way out of the shop, the suspect points his ‘weapon’ at the clerk and wishes him well. 

“Have a good f**king night,” the thief says.

NYPD is still searching for the suspect, according to the latest available updates. 

Social media users have speculated that the weapon was actually an air soft gun or possibly even a non-operational fake.
