SHOCK VIDEO: Suspect Sets Gas Station Ablaze With Clerk Inside
Detroit police have arrested a man suspected of setting fire to a gas station following a dispute with the clerk this week, according to reports.
The shocking incident unfolded just before 3 a.m. on Tuesday in Motor City.
Surveillance footage has been released by the Detroit Police Department.
A male suspect can be seen entering the West Seven Mile Road gas station and dumping the contents of a trash can on the floor.
Holding a blowtorch in one hand, he engages the shopkeeper for a few moments, pointing at the garbage on the ground.
Suddenly, he bends over, activates the torch, and sets the debris ablaze before exiting.
A massive fire erupts instantly inside the store then the video ends.
âWe have arrested the suspect in connection with setting a gas station on fire in the 19300 block of W. 7 Mile Rd,â Detroit Police announced on social media on Tuesday.
âThe gas station clerk was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated for 1st-degree burns.â
No further information about the suspect was released.
An investigation is ongoing.
