Shock Video: Drive-By Shooting Outside Seattle Daycare

A man was seriously wounded in a drive-by assassination attempt just feet from a busy daycare in Seattle this week, according to reports.

The shocking incident unfolded in broad daylight on Monday in the city’s Central District.

A 47-year-old man was strolling along a sidewalk past A-4-Apple Learning Center when an SUV slowed alongside him and a gunman opened fire, KOMO reports.

Surveillance footage from the scene has been circulating on social media.

The victim collapsed on the ground where he lay until emergency responders arrived.

He was rushed to hospital suffering from multiple gunshot wounds but is expected to survive, according to Seattle journalist Jonathan Choe.

Glass at the daycare reportedly shattered as at least one bullet passed through a front window, sending staff and children scrambling for safety.

“I just immediately said, ‘You guys, army crawl! Teachers, army crawl! I think we’ve been shot,’” said Appollonia Washington, who co-owns the facility.

At least 24 children were present in the building at the time of the shooting.

Washington said the kids had recently rehearsed for just such a situation, and that their training had proven effective.

“I don’t ever want to experience this again,” she said.

“Can we get patrols? Can we get officers walking by?”

No suspects were apprehended or identified at the time of this writing, according to the latest available updates.
