‘Health Centers’ Inside Seattle Public Schools Offering Free Hormone Therapies For Kids Without Parental Consent

A shocking new report by The Post Millennial details how the largest public school district in Washington State is providing free sex change therapies to adolescents without parental approval.

According to the outlet, “The Nova Wellness Center and the Meany Health Center offer ‘gender reaffirming care,’ including hormone-blocking medications and referrals for sex change surgeries, which are available to middle and high school students in Seattle Public Schools (SPS).”

A group called Parents Defending Education (PDE) first brought attention to the fact that kids as young as 11 will have access to the gender-altering chemicals.

The website for Country Doctor Community Health Centers (CDCHC), the “health center” inside the schools, confirms its presence at the public education facilities.

The services provided to students are listed below.

When visiting the section that describes the types of “gender-affirming care” the school clinics provide, the following list appears:

• Gender-affirming medications (estrogen, androgen blockers, testosterone, etc.) and injection teaching as needed
• Hormone therapy for adolescents and specialty referrals for younger patients as needed. We do not provide puberty blockers at this time.
• Referrals for gender-affirming surgeries (e.g. vaginoplasty, chest reconstruction, etc.) and procedures (e.g. speech therapy, electrolysis)
• Assistance obtaining mental health letters of support for gender-affirming procedures and referrals for internal or external behavioral health counseling as needed

The Daily Mail explains, “While puberty blockers are still barred for prepubescents, kids as young as 10 will still have access to cross-sex hormones such as estrogen and testosterone at two primary care clinics the CDCHC runs elsewhere in the city.”

While students have access to this type of care inside the school, faculty are prevented from informing parents by the Seattle Public Schools (SPS) policy titled, “Gender-Inclusive Schools: Transgender and Gender-Expansive Student Rights and Supports.”

According to the policy, staff “should not disclose a student’s transgender or gender X status to others unless (1) legally required to do so or (2) the student has authorized disclosure.”

School employees are also told when contacting “the parents/guardians of a transgender or gender X student and it is unclear whether the student asserts the same gender identity at home, it is best practice to avoid using gender pronouns.”

The Post Millennial reported last year that the school district with these facilities “saw an 853 percent increase in students that identify as non-binary in only three years.”
