Great Reset: NYC Brings UK Driver Tax Scheme To America

Published

on

New York City’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) on Wednesday agreed to a proposal that will charge drivers a fee for entering Manhattan’s Central Business District (CBD), which is designated as anywhere below 60th Street in Manhattan.

There will now be a four-month public comment period before the proposal goes into action.

A viral video online broke down how many New Yorkers who work in the zone will be charged for simply driving to their jobs.

The X Community Notes feature argued the city “is not charging its residents to go to work as the video claims,” which is slightly true since not all people being charged are technically going to work.

So, the charge isn’t for “going to work,” but for driving into the CBD zone regardless of the reason.

However, anyone working in the CBD would technically be charged to drive to work.

The move is meant to push drivers off the road in what is a larger, global agenda to crack down on freedom of travel and gas vehicles.

Cars entering the zone will be charged $15, with motorcycles being hit with a $7.50 fee, small trucks being charged $24 and big rigs seeing a $36 fee!

The fees will definitely be costly for companies with drivers who have to go into the zone.

There will be exemptions for rideshare and taxi companies, but the government made sure to get a share of money from them anyway.

Taxi drivers will be charged a $1.25 surcharge per ride while in the zone and rideshare drivers for companies like Uber, Lyft and others will be charged $2.50 per ride.

New York Taxi Workers Alliance Executive Director Bhairavi Desai released a statement calling the plan “a reckless proposal that will devastate an entire workforce.”

“Noise cameras” with microphones to capture audio are also being deployed to ticket drivers with vehicles deemed too loud.

A similar scheme was launched in London in 2019, called the Ultra Low Emissions Zone (ULEZ), which also charges drivers in a certain geographical area.

The ULEZ was first a small area and was eventually expanded more and more by the greedy UK government.

The map below shows the first, second and third iterations of the ULEZ map.

NYC will soon be a full-on dystopian metropolis full of spy technology tracking the movement of every citizen and other Democrat cities will surely follow.
