Germany: Woman Recovering From Leg Amputation Sexually Assaulted by Syrian Hospital Worker

A Syrian migrant has been charged with sexually assaulting two women at a hospital in Germany, including one who was recovering from leg amputation, according to reports.

Trial has begun in Hamburg in the case of Zakwan A., 43, who is accused of sexually abusing two female victims in their 50s.

Zakwan A. worked in food services at Eppendorf University Clinic, where the heinous attacks took place.

Both victims had recently undergone intensive surgeries and were barely able to move.

The suspect reportedly entered the room of Yvonne R., 52, and tried to kiss her, BILD reports.

The victim could only turn her head, at which point Zakwan A. allegedly shoved his hand between her thighs and molested her.

“I was paralyzed. I couldn’t react because I was so shocked,” Yvonne testfied.

The victim was barely able to speak after the attack, which reportedly triggered trauma from prior abuse for which she had undergone years of therapy, leaving nurses wondering if she had suffered a stroke.

“I had just rebuilt my life and now I’m completely thrown back,” Yvonne R. said.

The suspect carried out a similar assault against another woman identified as Ulrike H., who was also expected to testify this week.

Ulrike later apologized to Yvonne for not speaking up sooner about her attack, according to reports.

“She started crying and said, ‘If I had been braver, you would have been spared,’” Yvonne said.
