Epic: Tucker Carlson Celebrates America While Introducing Kid Rock at Concert
‘The country they tell me about on the internet is f***** up,’ Carlson said.
Former Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson joined musician Kid Rock on stage over the weekend, surprising the rocker’s audience with a special message about America not being the depressing place it’s portrayed to be in the media.
Discussing how Kid Rock (AKA Robert James Ritchie) asked him to join him on his upcoming tour after dinner at the former newsman’s home, Carlson was initially reluctant because he didn’t play any instruments.
But at the second night of the Rock the Country music festival in Gonzales on Saturday, Carlson described how once he met Kid Rock’s fans, who also adored him, he instantly realized he was grateful for the invitation and that the country truly is beautiful.
“And I had no idea until I got here and you know what changed my mind. I woke up this morning, and maybe you have this experience, I woke up this morning, and I went on the internet – familiar? – and I read all these stories, and I thought to myself, ‘This is the most depressing thing that’s happened to me in a long time. This country is fucked up.’ That’s what I thought. I DID think that, which is a sad thing to think when you’re in bed. And I looked over at my wife and my four dogs, and I thought, ‘Whoa, I feel depressed.’

“And then I got here,” he continued. “And I walked through the crowd. And I thought, ‘No, no, it’s not.’ The country they tell me about on the internet is fucked up. The country that I experience when I walk through this crowd or when I wake up in my town of 100 people in a rural area is a beautiful country filled with beautiful people.”
Tucker went on to introduce Kid Rock, telling fans, “Please be as noisy and disobedient as possible for Kid fucking Rock.”
