A former Emmy Award-winning ABC News reporter named James Gordon Meek will serve at least five years in prison after pleading guilty to child pornography charges Friday.

Meek, 53 years old, pled guilty to transporting and possessing child sexual abuse material at a Virginia federal court.

Meek will serve anywhere from 5-40 years for his heinous acts, which included receiving and sending photos and videos of child pornography.

The disturbed former mainstream media reporter sent a chat message asking another person, “Have you ever raped a toddler girl? It’s amazing,” according to the federal government.

The pedophile also fantasized about “abducting, drugging, and raping” a 12-year-old girl in messages obtained during an April 27, 2022, raid of Meek’s Virginia home.

Besides working for ABC News, Meek also used to have a job at the New York Daily News, produced a Hulu documentary in 2021, and at one point served as a senior counterterrorism advisor and investigator for the US House Committee on Homeland Security.

Meek’s sentencing will take place in September.
