CNN’s Tapper Demands Elon Musk Face ‘Repercussions’ For Denying Starlink to Ukraine For Attack Operation

CNN anchor Jake Tapper demanded Secretary of State Antony Blinken punish SpaceX founder Elon Musk for not allowing Ukraine to use his Starlink satellites to launch an attack operation against Russia.

“State of the Union” host Tapper on Sunday grilled Blinken over whether Musk should face “repercussions” for denying Starlink access to Ukraine for a strike against Russian warships anchored at Crimea last year.

“Musk effectively sabotaged a military operation by Ukraine, a U.S. ally, against Russia, an aggressor country that invaded a U.S ally. Should there be repercussions for that?” Tapper asked.

Blinken responded that he “can’t speak” to Musk’s refusing to activate Starlink for Ukraine last year.

“I can’t speak to a specific episode,” Blinken said. “Here’s what I can tell you – Starlink has been a vital tool for Ukrainians to be able to communicate with each other and particularly for the military to communicate in their efforts to defend all of Ukraine’s territory. It remains so and I would expect it to continue to be critical to their efforts.”

“So what we would hope and expect is that that technology will remain fully available to the Ukrainians. It is vital to what they’re doing,” he added.

Tapper snarked, “I don’t know if you can speak to it — you won’t speak to it.”

He went on to ask Blinken about “private discussions” Musk claims he had with “senior Russian officials” about Starlink.

“Are you concerned that Musk is apparently conducting his own diplomatic outreach to the Russian government? Really, none of this concerns you?” he asked.

Blinken replied, “I can’t speak to conversations that may or may have not happened, I don’t know.”

“We ourselves have always had to factor in what Russia may do in response to any given thing that we or others do or the Ukrainians do,” Blinken continued. “And we have, but what’s so critical now is that Ukraine has had real success over the past year.”

Unhappy with Blinken’s explanation, Tapper snarked, “It sounds like Starlink is so important to the U.S government that it doesn’t want to risk offending a capricious billionaire who did some things that I think in another situation the U.S. government might want to say something about.”

Musk clarified on X Saturday that he had denied government requests for Starlink to be used by Ukraine for an attack operation against anchored Russian warships at Crimea.

“There was an emergency request from government authorities to activate Starlink all the way to Sevastopol. The obvious intent being to sink most of the Russian fleet at anchor,” Musk explained.

“If I had agreed to their request, then SpaceX would be explicitly complicit in a major act of war and conflict escalation,” he added.

Musk’s refusal to escalate war with Russia has earned him the ire of not just CNN, but essentially the whole legacy media apparatus.

“Musk decided that he was saving humanity from a nuclear war. When Ukraine’s vice prime minister texted him to say that Starlink service was ‘a matter of life and death,’ Musk instructed him to ‘seek peace while you have the upper hand,’” The New York Times‘ Jennifer Szalai wrote Saturday.

“Counseling the Ukrainians to ‘seek peace’ sounds especially rich coming from someone who is ‘energized,’ Isaacson says, by ‘dire threats.’ But then the overall sense you get from this biography is that for all of Musk’s talk about the world-changing magic of ‘the algorithm,’ he ultimately does what he wants.”

Musk seems to be trying to prevent World War III and the Military Industrial-Complex’s media lapdogs absolutely hate him for it.
