Biden Regime Mulling Plan to Force Migrants to Remain in Texas Using Ankle Bracelets

The Biden administration is considering forcing migrants who illegally crossed into the U.S. to remain in Texas while awaiting asylum screening.

The plan comes as blue cities like New York City have become inundated with illegal aliens in recent months.

Administration officials have been considering the idea as a way to stem recent increases in the numbers of migrant families crossing the southern border, which reportedly reached an all-time high last month. Supporters of the remain-in-Texas idea, which has yet to be finalized, hope that it would help the administration advance its goals of quickly deporting families who fail initial asylum screenings and deterring other families from crossing in the first place.

But the proposal, which recalls President Reagan’s efforts to limit asylum seekers’ movements in the late 1980s, is likely to draw fierce opposition from immigrant rights groups and border-state officials. Since 2022, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, a Republican, has bused thousands of migrants out of his state to Democrat-run cities such as Los Angeles, New York and Washington, D.C.

The Biden plan would force certain migrant families to remain in Texas — or possibly other border states — by tracking their location through GPS monitoring devices, such as ankle bracelets, according to the three officials, who were not authorized to speak publicly on the matter. The families would be put through an asylum screening process to determine whether they could stay in the U.S. and proceed with their claims. Officials have discussed working with local organizations to provide housing for the families.

Democrat New York City Mayor Eric Adams recently claimed the migrant crisis will “destroy” the so-called “sanctuary city.”

“Let me tell you something, New Yorkers. Never in my life have I had a problem that I did not see an ending to. I don’t see an ending to this. I don’t see an ending to this. This issue will destroy New York City. Destroy New York City,” Adams said Wednesday during a Town Hall meeting. “We’re getting 10,000 migrants a month.”

“We had a $12 billion deficit that we’re going to have to cut. Every service in this city is going to be impacted. All of us,” Adams said. “It’s going to come to your neighborhoods. All of us are going to be impacted by this. I said it last year when we had 15,000. I’m telling you now with 110,000. The city we knew we’re about to lose. And we’re all in this together.”

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott blasted Biden’s proposal on Thursday, claiming that “scam” has already been tried and failed in the courts.

“Biden considers forcing migrant families to remain in Texas. This scam was tried years ago & was shot down by a judge. We will send Biden the same swift justice. And, we will add even more buses of migrants to Washington D.C.,” Abbott declared on X.

This comes amid Texas’ ongoing feud with the federal government, most recently over Abbott’s effort to stem the influx of migrants with floating buoys on the Rio Grande, which a judge ruled must be removed by September 15.

TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk pointed out that not only does Biden’s plan attempt to shield blue cities and states from the migrant influx, but it also aims to turn Texas into a blue state by 2024.

“Remember: The open border lobby’s big prize is Texas. They’re willing to flood America with 10,000,000 illegal criminals so long as the majority stay in Texas and eventually turn it blue,” he wrote on X.

The Biden Administration is now considering ankle monitors to keep illegals from leaving Texas.
