Biden Nat. Sec. Spokesman Kirby Tells Americans in Israel To Fly Commercial To Escape — But Airlines Suspended All Flights

Biden National Security Council coordinator for strategic communications John Kirby didn’t have many assurances for Americans trapped in Israel amid its war with Hamas, suggesting they take commercial flights out of the country, seemingly unaware major airlines have suspended flights from Israel.

Kirby did not impart much good news for Americans in Israel, saying he has no word of plans to airlift any U.S. civilians from the country and suggesting they instead take commercials flights to escape despite the fact airlines have suspended all flights.

“Right now there are still commercial carriers — not all, some — flying in and out of Ben Gurion [airport] every day. There are still now viable ground routes. If you wanted to leave safely out of Israel, that is also an option to you,” Kirby said during a White House press briefing on Wednesday.

“But neither of those options may necessarily be feasible or affordable to certain Americans,” he noted, adding the Biden administration is “exploring a range of other options to assist if Americans want to leave.”

Notably, the Ben Gurion International Airport has been under sustained missile attack by Hamas since it began its assault on Israel on Friday, so Kirby’s suggestion for civilians to flee there for escape is dubious.

Over a dozen major airlines, including American Airlines, United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, British Airways and Air France, suspended service to and from Israel over the weekend as the U.S. State Department issued travel advisories for the region citing terrorism and civil unrest threats.

Despite thousands of Americans remaining trapped in Israel and Kirby’s lame virtue-signaling, the Biden regime has made no plans to airlift U.S. citizens from the region, instead depending on the commercial flights that have essentially come to a halt.

However, the governments of Germany, France, and other nations have managed to begin airlifting their respective citizens out of war-torn Israel.

Rep. Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.) called on Biden to begin airlifting U.S. citizens with military aircraft on Tuesday.

“You already see other governments, including Poland, sending military aircraft to get their citizens out of Israel given the war,” he told CNN.

“And I think we need to take all actions to help get people home as quickly as possible, both between commercial flights and military aircraft.”

Rather than formulate a plan to rescue Americans, Biden instead swiftly mobilized warship strike groups and deployed military aircraft to drop off weapons to Israel’s army.

And recall Joe Biden had a similar incoherent response during the U.S. military’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021, resulting in 13 U.S. service members killed.

This is just another example of “America Last” foreign policy under the Biden regime.
