The Party of Science™
Nobody has accused Sheila Jackson Lee of being the sharpest tool in the shed.
In fact, she is about as dull as a knife that was buried near a stream for 150 years.
But still, she was a member of the House Science Committee and the Ranking Member on the Space and Aeronautics Subcommittee, and she just collaborated with NASA on a project related to the eclipse.
Here is what she said:
The party of 63 genders and pregnant men is now setting its sights on astronomy and space construction. What could go wrong?! https://t.co/wCjFImu9kq

We are in the very best of hands, aren’t we?
Lee made her amazing remarks at, of all places, the Booker T. Washington School, which happens to be a horrific school. On the same campus is The High School for Engineering Professions, about which I could find little.
According to Texas’ Education Agency only 32% of students meet standards.
Pretty sure Sheila Jackson Lee’s lecture on the nature of the moon and the sun won’t help with those test scores.
Lee was so proud of her little lecture on the moon’s composition and energy that she actually posted it on Twitter, presumably so she could share her scientific knowledge with the students of America who were unable to attend her lecture in person.
She knows what she is talking about. She was on the Science Committee, after all.

Keep in mind that people don’t wind up on committees solely because they want to. The leadership makes the final decision on who ends up where, and you can tell a lot about what Democrats actually think about science by noting that one of the dumbest Members of Congress wound up helping make US science policy.
Maybe this explains why SpaceX is running laps around NASA?
Today, I created the opportunity to see a unique science and solar experience for the students at Booker T. Washington High School.
As a former member of the Science Committee and former Ranking Member of the Space and Aeronautics Committee, this was an irreplaceable moment… pic.twitter.com/DhlorZthW7

Lee, as you may recall, almost became Houston’s Mayor, coming in second in the final vote. She was endorsed by Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton, both of whom claim to be serious people. They certainly are powerful. And believers in The Science™.
Lee is, of course, a Climate Change scold, and we should take her seriously. She knows her gases and her Science™. Did you know she was a member of the House Science Committee? She was!
Climate change is real and poses a significant threat to the future of the only planet we have. That’s why I was proud to stand in support of #HR9 so that we can take action on climate change. pic.twitter.com/1t7fQS5BEI

Lee has quite the resume, according to Lee. Yale UVA. A most effective Member of Congress.
She was named by ‘Congressional Quarterly’ as one of the 50 most effective Members of Congress. The ‘U.S. News and World Report named her as one of the ten most influential legislators in the U.S. House of Representatives. She is a founder, member, and Chair of the Congressional Pakistan Caucus and the Congressional Children’s Caucus. She is also chair of the Congressional Black Caucus Energy Braintrust, Co-Chair of the Justice Reform Task Force. Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee earned a B.A. in Political Science from Yale University with honors in the first graduating class, including females, followed by a J.D. from the University of Virginia Law School. She is married to Dr. Elwyn Lee, a Yale Graduate and an Administrator at the University of Houston.
Yale must be proud. I know I would be. Few people know the moon is made from gases. I thought it was solid.
It is breathtaking how stupid and incompetent our establishment is, although I suspect that Lee is simply an empty vessel into which the powers behind the throne pour whatever idiotic ideas they have. What else could explain her continued rise to power in Congress?
I suppose intersectional politics could explain it, but not her presence on the Science Committee and her influence over aeronautics.
Boeing should consider hiring her to straighten out their management problems, given her vast experience. Maybe Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi could put in a good word for her!

And an idiot.
About right.
