She Can’t Even Condemn Rape

More than once, the “Squad” has been referred to as the “Hamas Caucus” in recent months.

That’s because they and other radical Left Democrats have spent their energy condemning Israel and often justifying Hamas’ terror.

We are commonly told that their positions have nothing to do with antisemitism or support for terrorism, and in some cases, they may genuinely believe that. Given how captured by the DEI/anti-colonialism ideology many Leftists are, they justify their Israel-hating on anti-Westernism rather than antisemitism.

But yesterday, Rashida Tlaib took a clarifying vote in which she stood her ground alone, bravely, I am sure she thinks. She refused to condemn the rape of women by Hamas.

Many Hamas supporters deny that these rapes took place, even though Hamas hasn’t spent a lot of effort denying that they did. As with the hostages Hamas took, many Americans claim that no hostages were taken, despite the fact that Hamas proudly uses them for propaganda purposes and engages in negotiations with Israel and Qatar for their release.

Tlaib is proud to fly the Palestinian flag outside her office, as is her right. She also has a right to oppose aid to Israel.

She even has a right to refuse to condemn Hamas terrorism.

But make no mistake, Rashida Tlaib is a grotesque parody of a Social Justice Warrior. She can’t find it in her heart to condemn sexual violence when it is aimed at Jews, just as she papers over the fact that she condemns any disagreement with alphabet ideology here at home but remains silent when her friends in the Middle East stone to death women or throw homosexuals off of buildings.

She is a hateful fraud.

Tlaib’s excuse for not voting for this condemnation is that it doesn’t recognize Israelis have also committed sexual violence, which is true. But it is also beside the point.

No doubt there are Israelis who have done awful things, because there are people from every race, creed, or nationality who have done awful things.

The difference is that those are acts of criminals, not state policy carried out as terror measures to get political results. Nobody celebrates those crimes, or vows to use crimes as tactics in a terror campaign.

There are Jewish criminals, but Israel is not a criminal country. Hamas is a criminal, terrorist organization that uses rape and murder as a matter of policy. Its leaders justify these actions and worse.

That is the difference, and it is all the difference in the world.

Tlaib is on the side of rapists and murderers, and her excuses are a dodge, not an explanation. She supports evil.

Unfortunately, Tlaib is not alone. Not at all. She had one of the largest fundraising hauls for a Congresswoman after being censured by Congress. She is popular with the Left, precisely because she supports terrorism.

U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s (D-Detroit) monster fundraising total underlines the uphill battle any potential opponent will face should they challenge the polarizing congresswoman in the primary this year.

Driving the news: Tlaib, the only Palestinian American in Congress, raised $3.7 million toward her re-election campaign in the final quarter of 2023.

  • The windfall came as Tlaib was censured by the House for criticizing America’s military aid to Israel, whose airstrikes have killed more than 26,000 Palestinian civilians in Gaza since the Oct. 7 Hamas attack that killed 1,200 Israelis.
  • That’s her largest-ever campaign haul and more than Michigan’s entire Democratic Senate field raised in the same period.

What they’re saying: “She’s the only person in the country for people who support Palestine to donate their money to,” Wayne County Commissioner and 13th District Democratic Party Chair Jonathan Kinloch tells Axios. “We don’t have that kind of money in Detroit.”

  • Tlaib’s campaign says more than 32,000 people — a majority of them first-time givers — donated during the three-month period.

Rashida Tlaib, who cannot condemn rape as a political tactic, is outraising everybody else in Michigan.

Ugh.
