Newsom fumes: ‘Black, Asian, Jewish’ people and women will be ‘next’ after Target caves to pressure

Target is experiencing the Bud Light treatment right now. The mega retailer has been woke for a while but it waded into new territory this spring as Pride Month approaches. The company thought it was a good idea to market summer clothing like swim suits to men who want to be accepted as women. In a swim suit, that means private parts must be tucked in and the swim suits provide that option. Needless to say, that caused some commotion as consumers began speaking out. WTH, Target?

The clothing is part of special displays, complete with rainbows and note that June is Pride Month. Transgender activists are elbowing their way into gay pride recognition. No, not all transgender people are gay. Transgender refers to gender identity and not their sexuality orientation. It’s hard to keep up. Up until the protests began, the displays were in the front of the stores so that everyone would see. Most disturbing, though, is the clothing for children for sale with transgender themes. Not cool, Target. Stop sexualizing children. Children don’t understand what is going on. That adult buying the onesie is buying something to promote her own political agenda, not just buying a cute article of clothing for a little one. That baby is clueless and does not deserve to be decked out in such fashion.

So, when Target realized it overplayed its hand and began to experience the Bud Light treatment, it began pulling some of the clothing aimed at transgenders from the displays. Progressives and gay progressives sounded the alarm – wake up, America! Next thing you know, protesters will be coming for black people, and Asians, and Jewish people, and women will be next! California Governor Gavin Newsom said so and if anyone has his finger on the pulse of America, it’s Gavin Newsom. (sarcasm)

Target is selling out the LGBTQ community. I suppose an activist blinded by political ideology could say that but what Target is doing is trying to save its bottom line. Target is a business. It makes decisions on how it thinks it will generate revenue, though clearly, they are sometimes flat-out wrong. Go woke, go broke. Target’s share price is down 13% since this time last month. Coincidence? No.

The decision to pull some of the merchandise was due to “volatile behavior from customers.” The company is trying to protect its staff’s safety.

‘CEO of Target Brian Cornell selling out the LGBTQ+ community to extremists is a real profile in courage. This isn’t just a couple stores in the South.

‘There is a systematic attack on the gay community happening across the country. Wake up America.

‘This doesn’t stop here. You’re black? You’re Asian? You’re Jewish? You’re a woman? You’re next,’ he said.

California has more Target stores than anywhere else in the country with 317 – around 16 percent of all stores in the country.

Southern states? Progressives are the most prejudiced of all. The boycott efforts are being led by mothers. Women are usually the ones who buy the clothes for the children. It is adult women’s swimsuits that have the tuck-friendly panel.

It was after a series of angry mothers took to Twitter and TikTok to complain. Over the last few weeks, the retail giant has been reviled by families – particularly mothers – for pushing transgender clothes, books and greeting cards in its stores.

Amid growing anger over the displays and concern about some of the designers featured, the company started having ’emergency calls’ to avoid a backlash as voracious as that which Bud Light faced for partnering with trans activist Dylan Mulvaney.

In a statement last night, Target said it had pulled some of the items that have ‘been at the center of the most confrontational behavior.’

‘Since introducing this year’s collection, we’ve experienced threats impacting our team members’ sense of safety and wellbeing while at work,’ Target said in a statement.

‘Given these volatile circumstances, we are making adjustments to our plans, including removing items that have been at the center of the most significant confrontational behavior,’ crisis communications manager Kayla Castaneda said.

Target didn’t specify which clothing items were pulled from stores. All of the line of clothing can still be purchased online.

The financial hit happened quickly.

Target has lost $9 billion in market value since angry social media users called for a boycott of the Minneapolis-based retailer over its rollout of the “PRIDE” collection featuring LGBTQ-friendly clothing for children.

A week ago Wednesday before the controversy erupted, Target’s stock closed at $160.96 a share, giving the big-box chain a market capitalization of $74.3 billion.

As of early trading on Thursday, however, shares of the company were trading off 1% at $141.76 — capping a weeklong tumble that has shrunk the “cheap chic” discount retailer’s value to $65.3 billion.

That amounts to a 12% drop that has shaved a whopping $9 billion off the company’s market capitalization.

I think Target is the first of many to come that will face financial consequences for pushing socially experimental agendas as they sell merchandise. After the success seen with the Bud Light boycott, other companies will face the same from disgruntled customers. Boycotts usually don’t have much success but that is beginning to change in today’s extreme agendas. People are ready to say enough is enough. Stop pushing this behavior off on the general public. Women will lead the charge.

Don’t get too excited, though. Target is still tone-deaf.
