DHS Secretary Roasted By GOP Politicians, Yet No Impeachment
Several House Judiciary Republicans brutally criticized Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas Wednesday during a House Judiciary Committee hearing.
House Homeland Security Chairman Mark Green (R-Tenn.) launched a five-phased investigation into Mayorkas, which sparked the hearing.
Despite massive pressure to impeach Mayorkas over his open border policies, certain members of the Judiciary panel responsible for an impeachment hearing are currently not willing to go forward.
For example, GOP Rep. Ken Buck of Colorado “does not believe the criticisms of Mayorkas have raised to the bar of high crimes or misdemeanors at this point,” according to CNN.
Meanwhile, the GOP politician claimed Wednesday, “When people die of fentanyl poisoning, it is your [Mayorkas’] fault.”
So, the Biden administration official is responsible for tens of thousands of American deaths but that’s not enough to impeach?
“Last time you were here, I told you my constituents consider you a traitor. Today, I’d like to tell you why they believe this,” Rep. Buck told Mayorkas before detailing the hell fentanyl has put U.S. families through.
GOP Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz told the DHS head he is “doing the bidding of the [Mexican] cartels” who are holding the Mexican government captive.
Mayorkas also frustratingly refused to answer a basic question by Gaetz about how many illegal immigrants the DHS has told to go back to their country under his leadership.
Texas GOP Rep. Chip Roy absolutely decimated Mayorkas by reading his own words to expose him as a liar.
The Republican politician read a back-and-forth he had with Mayorkas last year and revealed he lied to Congress when he falsely claimed DHS had operational control of the U.S.-Mexico border.
Rep. Victoria Spartz (R-Ind.) became outraged at Mayorkas when he began smiling at her during questioning on the open border.
“We have a national security crisis and you sit there and stare at us with a smiley face?” she asked while getting worked up over Mayorkas’ refusal to properly answer any questions.
When Mayorkas was asked directly, “Will you resign?” he said he “will not” and GOP Rep. Jeff Van Drew of New Jersey said, “That leaves us with no other option. You should be impeached.”
Time will tell if our elected officials decide to grow a backbone and get rid of the corrupt globalist Mayorkas.
