Watch: IRS Whistleblower Joseph Ziegler Reveals How DOJ Protected Biden Crime Family

The whistleblower “Agent X,” identified as Democrat and career IRS agent Joseph Ziegler, appeared on CBS News before his testimony to Congress on Wednesday to give his account of the Department of Justice’s preferential treatment of Joe and Hunter Biden.

Ziegler, a 13-year career veteran of the IRS, sat down with CBS News’ Catherine Herridge to detail his role in the Hunter Biden investigation, which spanned both the Trump and Biden administrations.

“Any time we potentially wanted to go down the road of asking questions related to the president, it was, ‘That’s gonna take too much approvals. We can’t ask those questions,’” Ziegler said. “It created an environment that was very hard to deal with.”

“When you’re prevented from going down certain roads, I guess I don’t know what could have been found if we were not hamstrung or not handcuffed.”

“I’m a Democrat. In the last presidential election, I actually did not vote,” he continued. “I thought it would be irresponsible of me to do so because I didn’t wanna show bias one way or the other.”

Ziegler went on to describe how DOJ was resisting recommendations by U.S. Attorney David Weiss to charge Hunter with multiple felonies.

“In August of 2022, we had a phone call with all of the assigned prosecutors and they had said that all four of them were recommending the approval of felony and misdemeanor tax charges,” Ziegler said.

“David said to us…’I’m getting some concern from the Department of Justice Tax Division, the evidence that might come in related to his substance abuse and the death of his brother, Beau Biden, those might affect the jury’s opinion’,” Ziegler said.

In the end, he said, prosecutors weren’t able to bring charges outside the Delaware district and were denied requests for a special counsel.

“D.C. said, ‘No, we are not gonna assist you with bringing charges in our district. And we don’t think you should bring these charges forward in our district,’” Ziegler explained.

Ziegler claimed his investigative team was denied the ability to even speak to Hunter Biden’s adult children, claiming Weiss told him to do so would get them “into some hot water.”

“At the end of the day, it’s a matter of are we treating everyone the same? Are we treating all taxpayers the same?” Ziegler said. “And in this case, no, I don’t think so.”

Weiss last week refuted Ziegler and IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley’s claims that requests for a special counsel were rejected and he was limited to prosecuting only within Delaware.

Hunter Biden last month agreed to plead guilty to two misdemeanor offenses related to his filing of federal income taxes and a misdemeanor gun charge.
