Another Democrat FLIPS Republican: ‘Most Dangerous Thing to the Democrat Party is a Black Person With a Mind of Their Own’

A Georgia House member announced she’s switching her party from Democrat to Republican, claiming the party “abandoned” and “crucified” her for speaking out in favor of school choice.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, Rep. Mesha Mainor (District 56) explained how the Democrat Party turned against her for deviating from the party line.

“When I decided to stand up on behalf of disadvantaged children in support of school choice, my Democrat colleagues didn’t stand by me,” Mainor said.

“They crucified me. When I decided to stand up in support of safe communities and refused to support efforts to defund the police, they didn’t back me. They abandoned me.”

“For far too long, the Democrat Party has gotten away with using and abusing the black community,” she added. “For decades, the Democrat Party has received the support of more than 90% of the black community. And what do we have to show for it? I represent a solidly blue district in the city of Atlanta. This isn’t a political decision for me. It’s a moral one.”

Mainor is not the only lawmaker to leave the Democrat Party over its rigid and radical ideological positions over everything from foreign policy to the LGBTQ movement.

Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema left the Democrat Party in 2022, claiming she was “declaring my independence from the broken partisan system in Washington.”

Former Hawaii congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard also dramatically left the Democrat Party in 2022, slamming it as an “elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness.”

Several other state reps in Louisiana and North Carolina also left the Democrat Party over a period of weeks earlier this year as Joe Biden’s approval rating was hitting all-time lows.
