UFC President Dana White Blasts Reporter’s Question About ‘Racial Undertones’ at UFC 290: ‘Who Gives a Sh*t?’

UFC President Dana White disregarded a reporter’s question asking about racial tensions between two African fighters, curtly responding, “Who gives a shit?”

Addressing White at a press conference, a reporter asked if he was concerned by comments made by Nigerian born, New Zealand-based fighter Israel “The Last Stylebender” Adesanya – the current middleweight champion – toward South African fighter Dricus Du Plessis, who’s white, in which the former questioned the latter’s African roots.

“So, what was the racial…Who dropped the racial?” White asked attempting to flesh out the situation, before being told Adesanya “dropped about 50 N- bombs.”

“He was being black,” White answered, referring to Adesanya. “Okay? He’s black,” White said shrugging, adding, “Who gives a shit?”

The reporter continued his question, asking, “So you don’t have any concern about the build up? The tension between those two?”

“I could care less. This is the fight business. Israel Adesanya can say whatever he wants to say. Who gives a shit? Why? Are people bitching about that?” White asked, before going on to answer his own question, saying, “Of course they are. Oh fuckin’ A.”

“Too fuckin’ bad,” he added.

The incident came Saturday night at UFC 290 in Las Vegas after Du Plessis defeated former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker, putting him next in line to face off against Adesanya in an upcoming title bout.

Following Du Plessis’ win, Adesanya was allowed in the ring for a post-fight trash talk session.
