Watch: Triggered Kimmel Stops Oscars to Read Trump Post Slamming Show as ‘Boring’

Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel abruptly stopped the awards ceremony Sunday night to read a social media post from America’s 45th president Donald Trump, who blasted the elitist Hollywood event as “boring” and bashed Kimmel as a terrible host.

The live off-script incident took place after Trump fired off his critical post on Truth Social amid the awards show, goading the show’s unhinged limousine liberal host into dedicating airtime to him.

“Doing this show is not about me,” Kimmel said, adding, “but I was told we have an extra minute and I’m really proud of something and I was wondering if I could share it with you. I just got a review.”

Kimmel then proceeded to own himself by reading Trump’s brutal Truth Social post, throughout which the audience broke into laughter.

“Has there EVER been a WORSE HOST than Jimmy Kimmel at The Oscars?” Kimmel stated reading Trump’s post, prompting the audience to laugh.

“His opening was that of a less than average person trying too hard to be something which he is not, and never can be,” Kimmel continued.

Kimmel went on to read, “Get rid of Kimmel and perhaps replace him with another washed up, but cheap, ABC ‘talent,’ George Slopanopoulos,” referring to former newsman George Stephanopoulos.

Get rid of Kimmel and perhaps replace him with another washed up, but cheap, ABC “talent,” George Slopanopoulos. He would make everybody on stage look bigger, stronger, and more glamorous. Also a really bad politically correct show tonight, and for years – Disjointed, boring, and very unfair. Why don’t they just give the Oscars to those that deserve them. Maybe that way their audience and TV ratings will come back from the depths. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

Kimmel attempted to spin Trump’s savage take with a joke about the former president going to jail, saying, “Blah, blah, blah … OK, now, see if you can guess which former president just posted that on Truth Social. Anyone? No? Well, thank you, President Trump. Thank you for watching, I’m surprised you’re still — isn’t it past your jail time?”

Kimmel later revealed he had been advised not to read the Trump post.

Speaking to Ripa and Consuelos, Kimmel said some people advised him against reading Trump’s Oscars diss aloud during the ceremony. He clearly didn’t listen to such advice.

“They’re like, ‘You’ve got a little bit of time’ and I was like, ‘I’m reading the Trump tweet,’ and they’re like, ‘No, no, don’t read that,’” Kimmel said with a laugh. “[I was like] ‘Yes I am.’”

Kimmel’s backfiring stunt was seen as a huge win for Trump.
