Were you aware that the White House grounds were evacuated?

I saw this on Twitter and thought it must have been a joke.

After all, if the White House grounds were evacuated and a Hazmat team called in, I would have thought it would be all the talk.

Apparently not if the substance is found to be cocaine on a day that Hunter Biden was supposedly at the White House. Such coincidences are not worth bringing up, even if roads are closed, Hazmat teams brought out, and the White House grounds partially evacuated.

Just another day at the office.

This story popped up on social media, and there is lots of speculation that the cocaine found its way onto the White House grounds in the pockets of Slow Joe’s ne’er do well son Hunter. As of now, there is no evidence that this is the case, although you can’t blame people for thinking it might be true, given his history with the drug.

The speculation on the Right, though, is matched by the silence of the Left, which apparently shares the same suspicions. Otherwise, how could you explain the odd reticence of liberals to even discuss something so dramatic as the evacuation of the White House grounds?

I’m not exaggerating about the seeming indifference of the media to the story. While the discovery that the substance was cocaine relieved the fears of the Secret Service, a Hazardous Materials team was brought in because until testing was done the only thing that was known is that a mysterious white powder was found, and that was sufficient to put the Secret Service on alert.

Mysterious white substances do not warm the cockles of the Secret Service members’ hearts.

A quick Google Search on the story reveals a remarkable lack of curiosity on the part of the MSM not only to who brought the cocaine into the White House, but an indifference to informing the American people that an evacuation took place.

You literally got more stories about baby powder being sent to Congressmen than an evacuation of the White House grounds. Only Fox News shows up in top of the list when it comes to stories on this. “True Scoop News,” whatever that is, comes in second in rankings.

The White House grounds were evacuated Sunday after the U.S. Secret Service (USSS) discovered an “unknown item.”

“U.S. Secret Service Uniform Division Officers located an unknown item on the White House complex,” a USSS spokesperson told Fox News Digital.

“As a precaution, the White House grounds were evacuated, and the DC Fire Departments Hazmat team responded,” the spokesperson said.

DC Fire and EMS was contacted to evaluate, USSS said.

A hazmat team was called out to the area of 18th St and Pennsylvania Ave. Secret Service units blocked off roads around the White House.

One would imagine that this story would get at least a bit of attention. Not in this case though.

Why? I think we all know, and the reason is not that a White House grounds evacuation is not newsworthy.

Again, we can only speculate, but the fact that a known, hopefully reformed, cocaine addict is the president’s son and that he spends an awful lot of time at the White House suggests that the press corps is not anxious to draw attention to stories that include the words “cocaine” and “White House.”

Soon enough I expect 51 former intelligence agents to pen a letter assuring us that this story has been debunked.
