Armed Texas Woman Fatally Shoots 14-Year-Old Burglar – Police

A teenage boy was fatally shot by a female resident during an attempted burglary in Texas this week, according to authorities.

The incident unfolded on Thursday morning in Fort Worth.

Fort Worth police were first dispatched to an apartment complex at around 3 a.m. when a woman reported an attempted burglary at her residence.

A short time after officers left, the same woman called 911 again saying the suspect had returned.

“Fort Worth police responded again. This time, they found a teenage boy with a gunshot wound to the chest lying on the ground. Police say the female caller shot the teenager, who died on scene,” Fox 4 reports.

The deceased teen was later identified as a 14-year-old middle schooler who lived in the same complex.

The boy’s mother told Fox 4 he sometimes went out at night, but was not aware of his absence at the time of the shooting.

Investigators say the woman had reported multiple break-in attempts prior to Thursday, as well.

No arrests have been made at the time of this writing, according to the latest available updates.
