Obama AG Eric Holder: Trump Will Use ‘Full Weight’ of FBI Against Enemies if Elected in 2024

Former Attorney General Eric Holder alleged former President Donald Trump will take a page out of Joe Biden’s book and leverage the FBI against his political enemies if elected in 2024.

In an appearance Monday on CNN, Holder, who served as Barack Obama’s attorney general from 2009-2015, warned that Trump will use the “full weight” of the Department of Justice (DOJ) to seek “retribution” against his political opponents

“If the president told a compliant attorney general, ‘I don’t like what this congressman said about me or did about me [or] did to me over the course of the last two or three years, open an investigation on that person,’ that attorney general could tell a compliant United States attorney to do just that,” Holder said.

“[They can also] talk to a compliant FBI director who could be placed by the president to open an investigation and look through that person’s life for anything that you can possibly find.”

Holder, who once referred to himself as “Obama’s wingman,” then described without a hint of irony how politically motivated investigations can destroy democracy.

He continued: “Who’s to say what you find in any person’s life that might run afoul of the law? Even beyond that, the mere fact of an investigation of a person who is a public figure can be reputation-ruining [and] can be politically damaging. Not even if you find anything, just the fact that the investigation itself exists.”

“If you have the full weight of the Justice Department, full weight of the presidency, full weight of the FBI focusing on somebody like that, that can be extremely damaging to not only that person individually, but to our democracy at large,” he added.

Trump, Biden’s main political opponent in 2024, is currently facing 91 criminal charges across four indictments, from New York and Georgia, and from Biden’s DOJ, that add up to 700 years in prison.

The former president accused Biden of engaging in election interference by using the FBI to damage him ahead of a presidential election.

In the latest example, Trump called out the DOJ’s special counsel Jack Smith over his request to the Supreme Court to expedite Trump’s ‘2020 election overturning’ case so he could potentially be convicted before the 2024 election.

Nearly 6 in 10 Americans agree with Trump that the investigations into him are a political effort to keep him from winning the presidency next year.

Even corporate media outlets like the Washington Post are beginning to acknowledge the obvious.
