Watch: Romney Says He’d Vote Democrat Instead of Trump or Ramaswamy

Senator Mitt Romney (R-Utah) said he’d vote for any of the Republican presidential candidates — except for Donald Trump or Vivek Ramaswamy.

In fact, the failed 2012 GOP presidential nominee said he’d rather vote for Democrats than America First candidates like former President Trump, the current GOP frontrunner, or Ramaswamy.

“I’d be happy to support virtually any one of the Republicans — maybe not Vivek [Ramaswamy] — but the others that are running would be acceptable to me and I’d be happy to vote for them,” Romney told CBS host Norah O’Donnell.

Romney said he’d even vote for Democrats over Trump, adding he likes Joe Biden.

“I’d be happy to vote for a number of Democrats too! It would be an upgrade, in my opinion, from Donald Trump, and perhaps also from Joe Biden,” he said.

“Look, I like President Biden. I find him to a very charming, engaging person,” Romney continued.

“There’s some places I agree with him, but most places I disagree with him. I think he’s made all sorts of terrible mistakes. But I would like to see someone else run.”

Ramaswamy, an unapologetic “America First” candidate who espouses many of the same policies as Trump, said Romney’s admission was “not surprising.”

Romney, one of seven GOP senators who voted to impeach Trump, in September announced he would not seek reelection in 2024, saying “it’s time for a new generation of leaders.”
