‘Ceasefire Now!’: Thousands of Hamas Supporters Swarm Streets of Austin, Surround Texas Capitol

Thousands of pro-Palestinian protesters took to the streets of Austin and surrounded the Texas Capitol on Sunday to call for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Video shows a massive group of protesters igniting smoke flares fireworks and waving Palestinian and Hamas flags downtown while calling for an end to the humanitarian blockade of Gaza and to America funding Israel’s “genocide” of Palestinians.

The protesters filled the streets chanting “Ceasefire Now!” and “Free, Free Palestine Now!” as they as marched down San Jacinto Boulevard.

Another group was heard chanting, “Abbott, Abbott, you can’t hide. We charge you with genocide.”

“The protest was organized by a coalition of pro-Palestine groups, including the Palestinian Youth Movement and the Party for Socialism and Liberation,” the Texas Tribune reported.

Massive protests in support of Palestine have been erupting across America, Europe, and the Middle East in response to Israel’s military response in Gaza stemming from Hamas’ terrorist attack against the country on Oct. 7 that resulted in over 1,400 dead.

International condemnation grew in the wake of reporting that the civilian death toll in Gaza exceeded 10,000 from seemingly wanton bombing and its humanitarian blockade, prompting the UN to adopt a resolution with the support of 120 nations urging for an immediate and sustained “humanitarian truce.”

Israel recently reached out to former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair to become its “humanitarian coordinator” in Gaza to “improve the humanitarian situation inside the Palestinian enclave and reduce international pressure,” according to the Times of Israel.
