Hypocrite: NY Gov. Hochul Visits Israel Wearing Body Armor She Banned in New York

Democrat New York Gov. Kathy Hochul took a trip to Israel over the weekend, where she was seen wearing body armor she’d recently banned people in her state from purchasing.

Footage shared on Hochul’s X account last Friday showed her in the Kfar Aza kibbutz in Israel wearing body armor, which laws she signed have precluded New Yorkers from buying.

In response to last year’s tragic shooting in Buffalo, in which ten people were gunned down at a supermarket, Hochul signed legislation targeting guns and body armor.

The New York governor’s website explains that people outside of law enforcement officers and “other professions” (like legislators) would be banned from purchasing body armor:

Legislation S.9407-B/A.10497 makes it illegal to purchase and sell body vests for anyone who is not engaged in an eligible profession. Eligible professions include law enforcement officers and other professions, which will be designated by the Department of State in consultation with other agencies. It also requires that all body vest sales are completed in-person.

As pointed out by BearingArms.com, Hochul’s travel to Israel wasn’t really a necessity for the state, tax-payers, or Israel, for that matter.

After banning body armor for ordinary New Yorkers, Gov. Kathy Hochul made a taxpayer-funded junket to Israel. What value can a useless New York politician, presiding over an exploding $36.4 billion budget deficit, a major narcotics crisis, a self-imposed illegal immigration sanctuary crisis, massive capital outflows, and fleeing taxpayers (causing the loss of a congressional seat) add to Israel? 

Was Hochul there to tell former Sayeret Matkal commando Benjamin Netanyahu to make the Gaza Border a “sensitive place” like Times Square?

Hochul’s hypocrisy illustrates how Democrats who establish gun control regulations in their liberal strongholds aren’t really serious about their gun control efforts, living a “rules for thee, not for me” lifestyle.
