Hilarious: Citizens Watching Snuff Videos To Solve Middle East Conflict?
Comedian Ryan Long posted a video Wednesday mocking the countless individuals across the globe choosing to look at gruesome photos and videos of dead children as the Israel-Palestine feud continues to escalate.
“I’ve been educating myself on the nuances of the Middle East by watching a constant stream of atrocities on X for about eight hours a day,” the comic says to start the video.
Long continues, saying he doesn’t “have to” watch the disturbing video clips since he’s not in “politics or journalism.”
At one point, the citizen researcher portrayed by Long confuses Middle East videos for clips on the infamous snuff website rotten.com.
“I mean, this is how you get to the bottom of things,” he says. “Someone on the internet says, ‘Look at these dead babies,’ then you say, ‘Why don’t you look at these dead babies,’ then they come back at you and say, ‘Why don’t you look at these dead babies?’”
Continuing to mock the gore addicts, the character tells his mother during a phone call, “Mom I gotta put you on hold, a new corpse just dropped.”
Towards the end of the video, Long says, “If I’m being honest with you, I still don’t really know what’s going on with this conflict, but I do know that I am feeling pretty psychopathic.”
This skit is accurate as there is no way viewing the photos and videos coming out of Israel and Palestine over the past eleven days can be good for anyone’s psyche.
With that being said, those of us in journalism and politics have reluctantly had to see some of them as we sift through the information being released online, and they are quite disturbing.
Pray for peace.
