Putin: Ukraine’s Counteroffensive Utterly Failed

Ukraine launched its much-touted counteroffensive attempt early in June, and quickly ran up against solid Russian defenses and minefields. According to the latest data, the Kiev regime lost over 90,000 troops, 557 tanks and almost 1,900 armored vehicles.

Ukraine’s counteroffensive has failed completely, but the Zelensky regime is preparing new active offensive operations in certain zones of the conflict, which Russia is aware of and is responding accordingly, Russian President Vladimir Putin assured.

“As for the counteroffensive, which is apparently stalling – it has failed completely. We know that in certain areas of the hostilities, however, the opposing side is preparing new active offensive operations. We see this, and we know it. And we are also responding to this accordingly,” Putin said in an interview with reporter Pavel Zarubin, published on Sunday.

Russia’s troops are now bolstering their position practically across the entire conflict zone, and these actions can be described as an active defense with improved positions in some areas, including in the directions of Kupyansk, Zaporozhye, and Avdeyevka, Putin explained.

“What is currently happening along the entire frontline is called an ‘active defense’. Our troops are improving their positions over a considerable expanse of this area, a fairly extensive one,” Vladimir Putin pointed out.

The president also thanked Russia’s top military brass and the servicemen on the front lines of the special military operation for their courage and heroism.

“I would like to thank the Armed Forces, the leadership of the Armed Forces, but first of all our servicemen on the front lines for their bravery and heroism,” Putin emphasized.

Putin Rubbishes US Speculation About War with Russia, China

The recommendations of the US Congress to prepare for a simultaneous war with Russia and China, which are also nuclear powers, cannot be called healthy thoughts, it is nonsense, most likely, the congressmen are just scaring each other, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

On Thursday, a US congressional commission issued a report saying that the United States was ill-prepared for such risks as the conflict with Russia and China.

“I don’t think people in their right mind should or can have such a notion. But if they do, it only makes us wary. And even more so, to go to war with both Russia and China at once. [That’s] nonsense, of course. I don’t think it’s serious. They are just frightening one another, I think,” Putin told the press.

US Goading Reluctant Europe to Clash with Russia, China

Washington is forcing its allies to aggravate ties with Russia and China, but Europe does not want any sort of souring in relations with Beijing, while Moscow is not trying to create a military alliance with China, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

“We have already said many times: we are not uniting into some kind of military alliance, yet the Americans are doing just that. Moreover, they are forcing their allies to worsen relations with Russia and China,” Putin stressed.

“They themselves have entered into a confrontation with China… They are dragging the Europeans down this path. The Europeans do not want to pick a fight with China. Europe’s trade with China is persistently growing, even more than Russia-China trade. The Europeans do not want to jeopardize their relations with China, but they are being pushed to do so by the Americans,” the Russian president noted.
