French Police Urge Residents to Avoid Countryside or Forest Alone After Brutal Sex Attack on Jogger
Residents of a city in France have been urgently warned to avoid going to rural places alone “even during the day” after a female jogger was brutally attacked by a sex predator of “Mediterranean” appearance, according to reports.
The shocking assault unfolded just after 5 p.m. on Monday in Nîmes, located in the south of France.
A woman on a run in the village of Courbessac was ambushed by a man who hit her in the face, doused her with an unidentified liquid, and pulled her pants down before she could escape.
The suspect is described as having a unibrow and being of “Mediterranean type,” which could indicate he comes from North Africa or the Middle East.
“Following the attack on a jogger at the Escettes estate at Nîmes, do not go alone into the countryside or forest even during the day,” police have warned the public as they search for the suspect.
An investigation is underway.
