Veteran, 95, evicted and replaced by illegal migrants

Out on Staten Island in New York, Island Shores Senior Residence Community has served senior citizens for decades, providing rooms, meals, and other services. For quite some time, it was the home of 95-year-old Frank Tammaro, a disabled veteran of the Korean War. That all changed this summer when Tammaro was informed that he would have just six weeks to pack his things and vacate the premises. He attempted to protest and file a complaint, but things were moving too quickly. Before long, he was out on the curb, but he was even more upset when he learned why he had been evicted. The facility had been sold to the city so it could be used as another shelter for illegal migrants. (Fox News)

A 95-year-old Korean War veteran said he was given less than two months’ notice to figure out where he was going to live after the nursing home he resided in was sold to become a facility for undocumented migrants.

Veteran Frank Tammaro joined Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, R-N.Y., a vocal critic of New York City’s handling of the migrant crisis, at a press conference on Monday to discuss the reported deal.

“The thing I’m annoyed about is how they did it, it was very disgraceful what they did to the people in Island Shores,” Tammaro said, referencing the assisted living facility he was in.

Tammaro was very grateful that his daughter had been available to come pick him up and transport his possessions or he might have literally wound up being homeless. But he and other former residents are seeing red, particularly because of how quickly this all happened and the fact that everything was decided behind closed doors without the residents even knowing about the plans that were under discussion.

As it turns out, Tammaro learned that a New York City nonprofit called Homes for the Homeless had cut a deal with the City Council. It was agreed that the current residents of Island Shores would be “removed” and the facility would be converted to a migrant shelter. The city’s Department of Social Services was also reportedly involved in the deal. So now we have a 95-year-old veteran who was put out on the street so that an illegal migrant could move into his room.

How does this qualify as any sort of “justice” in the eyes of any of these people? The flood of migrants overrunning the city is the fault of Joe Biden and the swamp creatures in Washington. They should be responsible for finding solutions. If the city insists that it needs to build new shelters to house all of these people, I suppose that’s a decision they’ll have to make and figure out how to pay for it. But they are kicking honored citizens literally out to the curb and replacing them with illegal aliens. This is beyond disgusting.

All of this could have been avoided if Gotham’s City Council had simply summoned up the courage to do away with their “right to shelter” policy. They should do that and then put huge “No Vacancy” signs up above every major roadway leading into New York. They could also be putting actual pressure on the White House to close the damn border and quit lying about what’s going on down there. But you can never seem to convince these people to criticize a fellow Democrat. They’ll all just keep trying to blame Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans, I suppose.

Joe Biden has been doing quite a few fundraisers in New York City lately. Of course, you never hear a word from him about the border crisis or the migrant crisis in the city. Next time he’s in town, someone should find a way to force a meeting between Biden and Frank Tammaro. Let him explain to Frank why he couldn’t stay in his home and why that migrant is more important and valuable to this country than Frank’s military service to his nation.
